Picture framing is a creative process and each artwork must be approached individually. Good framing will visually enhance the artwork.
There are various methods of framing. Standard framing involves the use of frames, fillets, v grooves and matboards to complement an artwork - this might be a print, photo, canvas, cross stitch or watercolour. A shadow frame can be used to create a minimalist look.
Special offer: custom frame 4 images and only pay for 3!
Conditions apply: the least expensive frame is free, not to be used in conjunction with any other offer.
Box framing refers to framing an artwork or memorabilia so that it is recessed behind glass, giving it depth.
Floating artwork is a method used where a matboard is placed behind the artwork to allow the edges to show. Decked (rough edged) papers and papyrus often look best floated.
Stretching and custom framing for canvas and textiles refers to wrapping the artwork around a wooden frame. A stretched artwork can be hung, or it can itself be framed.
Mirrors can be custom framed as an alternative to purchasing a premade mirror, giving more flexibility when it comes to matching your size requirements or decor.
Restretching is sometimes required for older stretched artworks. Reglazing may be required for a framed picture where the glass has broken or cracked.
